Overview
The VNLD5090-E is a monolithic device produced by STMicroelectronics using their VIPower technology. It is designed to drive resistive or inductive loads with one side connected to the battery. The device features built-in thermal shutdown to protect against overtemperature and short-circuit conditions. Additionally, it includes output current limitation to safeguard the device during overload conditions. If the overload persists, the device limits the dissipated power to a safe level until thermal shutdown intervenes. The thermal shutdown is equipped with an automatic restart function, allowing the device to recover normal operation once the fault condition disappears. Fast demagnetization of inductive loads is also achieved at turn-off.
