Overview
The VN820-E is a monolithic high-side driver designed by STMicroelectronics using their VIPower® M0-3 technology. This device is intended for driving any type of load with one side connected to ground. It features an active VCC pin voltage clamp that protects the device against low energy spikes, such as those specified in ISO7637 transient compatibility. The VN820-E also includes active current limitation, thermal shutdown with automatic restart, and detection of open-load conditions in both on and off states. Additionally, it detects if the output is shorted to VCC in the off-state and automatically turns off if the ground pin becomes disconnected.
