The M74HC4051 is a single 8-channel analog multiplexer/demultiplexer fabricated with silicon gate C2MOS technology by STMicroelectronics. It is pin-to-pin compatible with the equivalent metal gate CMOS4000B series. This device contains 8 bidirectional and digitally controlled analog switches, allowing for a wide range of analog signal handling. The M74HC4051 includes built-in level shifting to accommodate analog input signals up to ±6 V (peak) with digital control signals ranging from 0 to 6 V. It also features an inhibit (INH) input terminal to disable all switches when set to a high level. For digital multiplexer/demultiplexer operation, the VEE supply pin is connected to GND.
