The LPS331APTR is an ultra-compact absolute piezoresistive pressure sensor manufactured by STMicroelectronics. This sensor integrates a monolithic sensing element and an IC interface, enabling it to convert the pressure detected by the sensing element into a digital signal. The sensing element is a suspended membrane realized on a single mono-silicon substrate using ST's dedicated VENSENS process, which ensures a small membrane size and prevents breakage with an intrinsic mechanical stopper. The IC interface is produced using a standard CMOS process, allowing high integration and dedicated circuit design trimmed to match the sensing element's characteristics. The sensor is packaged in a small holed cap land grid array (HCLGA) and operates over a temperature range of -40 °C to +85 °C.
