Overview
The L6562AT is a current-mode Power Factor Correction (PFC) controller operating in Transition Mode (TM), designed and manufactured by STMicroelectronics. It retains the same pin-out as its predecessors, the L6561 and L6562, but offers improved performance. The device features a highly linear multiplier that reduces AC input current distortion, allowing for wide-range-mains operation with extremely low Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) even over a large load range. The output voltage is controlled using a voltage-mode error amplifier and an accurate internal voltage reference. The L6562AT is known for its low power consumption and includes a disable function for remote ON/OFF control, making it compliant with various energy-saving standards such as Blue Angel, EnergyStar, and Energy2000.
