Overview
The MC74HC165ADR2G, produced by onsemi, is an 8-bit serial or parallel-input/serial-output shift register. This device is identical in pinout to the LS165 and is compatible with standard CMOS outputs. With the use of pullup resistors, it is also compatible with LSTTL outputs. The MC74HC165ADR2G allows data to be loaded into the register either in parallel or in serial form, depending on the state of the Serial Shift/Parallel Load input. When this input is low, data is loaded asynchronously in parallel, and when it is high, data is loaded serially on the rising edge of either the Clock or Clock Inhibit inputs.
