Overview
The VNH5050A-E is a full bridge motor driver designed by STMicroelectronics for a wide range of automotive applications. It incorporates a dual monolithic high-side driver and two low-side switches, utilizing STMicroelectronics' proprietary VIPower® M0 technology. This technology integrates a true Power MOSFET with intelligent signal and protection circuitry on the same die. The device is packaged in a PowerSSO-36 TP package, which is specifically designed for the harsh automotive environment, offering improved thermal performance and superior manufacturability at the board level.
The input signals INA and INB can directly interface with a microcontroller to select the motor direction and brake condition. The device also features diagnostic feedback signals through the DIAGA/ENA and DIAGB/ENB pins. The PWM input allows for speed control of the motor up to 20 KHz.
