Overview
The PM8805TR, produced by STMicroelectronics, is a system-in-package designed for smart power supply of Power over Ethernet (PoE) Powered Devices (PD). It is capable of handling power levels up to 99.9 W and is compliant with IEEE 802.3bt, as well as the older IEEE 802.3at and 802.3af standards. The device integrates two active bridges, their driving circuitry, a charge pump for the high-side MOSFETs, and a hot swap MOSFET. It also includes an interface for PoE-PD that supports 4-pair PoE applications and can operate with power from either the Ethernet cable or an external power source such as a wall adapter.
