Overview
The L7805AC-D2TR is a member of the L78 series of three-terminal positive voltage regulators produced by STMicroelectronics. This regulator is available in the D²PAK package and is designed to provide local on-card regulation, eliminating distribution problems associated with single point regulation. It is essentially indestructible due to its internal current limiting, thermal shut-down, and safe area protection features. With adequate heat sinking, it can deliver output currents of up to 1.5 A. Although primarily designed as a fixed voltage regulator, it can also be used with external components to achieve adjustable voltage and currents.
