This component is part of the MAX6369–MAX6374 series, which are tailored for critical μP and microcontroller (μC) monitoring. During normal operation, the microprocessor must repeatedly toggle the watchdog input (WDI) before the selected watchdog timeout period elapses to ensure the system is processing code correctly. If the μP fails to provide a valid watchdog input transition before the timeout period expires, the supervisor asserts a watchdog (active-low WDO) output to signal processing errors, which can be used to reset the μP or interrupt the system.
