Overview
The HMC984LP4ETR, produced by Analog Devices Inc., is a high-performance, ultra-low phase noise SiGe BiCMOS Phase-Frequency Detector and Charge Pump. This component is designed to be used in conjunction with the HMC983LP5E (Fractional Frequency Divider) to form a high-performance, low-noise, ultra-low spurious emission fractional-N frequency synthesizer. However, it can also operate as a stand-alone, low-phase noise phase-frequency detector.
The device is housed in a compact 24-pin, 4x4 mm LP4 package and features a 14-bit reference frequency R-Divider, automatic and configurable Lock Detect Indicator, and integrated Cycle Slip Prevention (CSP) capability. It supports differential VCO input and a reference frequency up to 150 MHz.
